Companies that started in a garage

Concrete garages are so much more than just a place for storage. A high-quality concrete garage can provide you with the opportunity to achieve so much. Many homeowners have capitalised on the space that the garage provides and used it to their advantage. New garages, especially bespoke ones are extremely versatile.

In some form or another, you can convert your garage into the perfect place to start up a new business. Your new business venture can be the start of something huge or just a way to make money on the side. Here are some world-famous companies that started off in a garage:

Disney
Disney is one of the most famous, and most recognisable brands in the world. They have topped the entrainment industry for many decades yet it all began in Walt Disney’s garage. Walt Disney is the biggest name in cartooning, animation and children entertainment, which all began from drawings and editing in his garage.

Apple
Apple are one of many technology giants that also began in a garage. Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak both began working on one of Apples earliest products, the Apple 1, which began the companies enormous success. Back in 1976, Steve jobs raised some funds and began assembling the circuit boards of the computer in a garage that is now a historical site in California.

Yankee Candles
The story of how Yankee Candles began is incredibly heart-warming. Michael Kittredge wanted to create a one-of-a-kind present for his mother’s birthday and began working on the first Yankee Candle. A passing neighbour then saw the candle and asked if she could buy it, with the money Michael made two more, one for his mother and another to sell.
